# The U.S. Just Banned Canadian Beer, Wine and Whisky

As of 12:01 this morning, Canadian beer, wine and whisky are banned from the United States. Trump says Canada will be back within weeks to say sorry.
The ban also covers motorcycles over 800cc and whey. Canada makes about 2 billion dollars of spirits a year, and 948.6 million dollars of it was sold in the U.S. The day before the ban, Trump called Canada "one of the worst countries in the entire world" and said that within "three or four weeks" Canadians would come and say, "Sir, we are sorry." A Vancouver distiller told CBC that if the border does not reopen within three or four months, he will move that business elsewhere. An Ontario winery is already on trade missions to Japan and Singapore.

It also blocks motorcycles and whey. Canada makes about $2 billion of spirits a year, and nearly half of it was sold in the United States. Trump says Canada will fold.
I think what's going to happen is over the next three or four weeks, they're going to come to us and they're going to say, we're going to get rid of all the tariffs. They're going to come in and they're going to say, sir, we are sorry.
